Basics[]

Scouting and Orders[]

As you travel down the road, many different enemies will be blocking your path. Your sidekick Scout will run ahead and let you know what kind of enemies you have to face everyday. Sometimes you will encounter Elemental Enemies that are weak against a certain Element. Build weapons that deal extra elemental damage for these enemies. Soldiers in the area will help you, but they need weapons first. Each soldier is skilled with a certain type of weapon. Swordsmen can only use swords, archers can only use bows, and so on. Soldiers will wait until you craft a weapon, and will then join you in battle at the end of the day.

Craft Weapons[]

Your wagon has four Crafting Stations where you can build a weapon. You can use any station and can use all of them at once to multitask. You will unlock three different molds for each type of weapon. Soldiers can use any of the three variations, but each of them has a different Element Boost. Each type of weapon has a different process for crafting. All weapons need to be forged using your metals and some share similar parts. If you craft a great weapon, that mold's Star Meter will begin to fill up. When the meter is filled, you will unlock the extra Elemental Boosts for that weapon variation.

Stats[]

Each weapon has two main stats: Power and Durability. Power is the weapon's attack strength and Durability is how long the weapon lasts before breaking. The Power and Durability for a weapon comes from the metal you use to create it. Better metals have higher stats. If you craft a weapon poorly, the stats will go down, and it won't do as well in battle. Parts that you collect or buy will also have additional Stat Boosts, to make your weapon stronger. Some parts will have a Luck stat. If your overall Luck for your soldiers is high enoughm enemies may drop more items and better metals. Weapons and parts can also have Elemental Boosts in addition to their regular stats.

Shop[]

You can use the Gems you collect to buy weapon parts from Gander 's shop. New items are added and old items removed each day. You can also buy some extra metal ore when it is in stock.

Battle[]

The soldiers go to battle using your weapons. How well you built the weapons determines how well they will perform in battle. Monsters will drop loot when attacked. Move your mouse over the dropped items to collect them. You'll earn Experience Points (XP) when a monster is defeated, and they spray extra loot down the trail. Each weapon's Durability goes down when it is used, and also goes down when an enemy attacks. When Durability reaches zero, the weapon will break and that soldier will retreat.

Weapons and Soldiers[]

There are 6 types of weapons and 3 variations of each type for every 6 types of soldiers. They are the following:

  1. Swords are ordered by The Pigarius Legion.
  2. Bows are ordered by The Cluckshire Brood.
  3. Axes are ordered by The Capriloch Clan.
  4. Shields are ordered by The Martello Flock.
  5. Pikes are ordered by The Meadowguard.
  6. Maces are ordered by The Oxdin Herd.

Elements[]

Element Chart[]

There are eight different elements in Jacksmith: Fire, Water, Ice, Stone, Wind, Lightning, Plant, and Shadow. The rest are Power, Durability, Luck, and Basic. Some enemies are Elemental Enemies (they are enchanted with a certain element). They are weak to the element they are enchanted with (e.g. enemies enchanted with Fire are weak to Fire-boosted weapons). Enemies that are not Elemental Enemies are Basic.

Each weapon type has one Elemental boost (available once the player unlocks that weapon type) and three extra Elemental boosts that can be unlocked by filling the weapon type's Star Meter. The player can collect or buy weapon parts that give Elemental boosts to their weapons.

Weapon Parts[]

Many parts will give you Elemental Boosts to your weapons. If you attach a part poorly, you may not get the full Elemental Boost amount.

Weapon Boosts[]

Each weapon variation comes with different Elemental Boosts. Longswords deal extra Fire damage and the Gladius deals extra Water damage. These Elemental Boosts are added on top of the usual weapon Power and Durability. If you make a great weapon, that variation's Star Meter will start to fill up. When the meter is full, you will unlock extra Elemental Boosts for that weapon variation. Each variation starts with one Boost and has three extra Boosts to unlock.

Enemies[]

As you travel down the road, many different enemies will be blocking your path. In the Lowlands, you'll only see basic enemies. Once you reach Cinder Springs and beyond, you'll start seeing strong Elemental Enemies as well. Elemental Enemies are weak against a certain Element. Build weapons that deal extra damage for these enemies. As you travel further, monsters will get larger and stronger. Check the Bestiary to see all of the types of monsters you have already encountered

Loot[]

Enemies will drop loot every time a soldier attacks. Move your mouse over dropped loot to collect it. When you defeat an enemy, they will spray extra loot down the trail. This loot usually contains better metals and weapon parts. If you craft stronger weapons, enemies may drop better metal ores as loot. When you start crafting Bronze weapons, enemies will start dropping some Iron Ore. Use weapon parts with a Luck Boost, and enemies will have a chance to drop more loot and better metal ores.

Treasure[]

If you defeat all of the enemies on a trail, you'll reach a Treasure Chest that has special loot: An Epic Weapon Design and the parts required to build it. You won't always reach the Treasure Chest if your weapons break, so you won't always get a new Epic Weapon. Be sure to collect all of the parts that pour out of the Treasure Chest, including the Design Scroll.

Cannon[]

You will eventually unlock a Cannon for your wagon, so you can help your troops in battle. Click on one of the Cannonball buttons to launch a cannonball into the field. After you use your cannon, it will need to recharge before you can fire that type of cannonball again. You will also unlock some cannonballs that fire at your troops instead of the enemy. Some cannonballs will affect the enemies temporarily. There are 6 types of Cannonballs:

  1. Cannonball - A low damage cannonball- 30 second cooldown.
  2. Fire Bomb - Slowly deals damage to the enemy as the fire burns- 1 minute cooldown.
  3. Repair Bomb - Repairs all of your weapons slightly- 1 minute cooldown.
  4. Lightning Bomb - Zaps and enemy and lowers their attack damage temporarily- 1.5 minute cooldown.
  5. Booster Bomb - gives all your soldiers a boosted attack power for a limited time- 1.5 minute cooldown.
  6. Ice Bomb - freezes an enemy for a limited time, so they can't fight back- 3 minute cooldown.

Epic Weapons[]

Finding and Browsing[]

If you defeat all of the monsters on a trail, you will reach a Treasure Chest that contains an Epic Weapon Design and the parts neede to build it. Be sure to collect everything that drops out of the chest. You can also click the "Designs" book to browse any Weapon Designs you have collected. You can also press D on the keyboard or go to the Designs page from the Menu button. Design names will be shown in green in the list if you currently have all of the parts and metals needed to build it. Design names will have a Star if you have built at least one of this Epic Weapon before.

Bonus Effects[]

Each Epic Weapon design gives you a Bonus Effect to all of the soldiers on that day if you build one. This Bonus Effect is added to each weapon's stats during the battle.

Bookmark[]

You won't always have the parts needed to make one of you Epic Weapons. You can Bookmark a design's parts so you don't accidentally use them on a different weapon. Bookmarked parts will show a red background and Bookmark icon when you're building and browsing your inventory. You can have multiple designs bookmarked at once and you can remove a bookmark whenever you like. After you craft an Epic Weapon, it will automatically remove that bookmark if it was bookmarked.

Trivia[]

  • This game is similar in design to Papa Louie's restaurant management games; soldiers take the role of customers who place orders, and there is also a shop and grading system.  The only major difference is that you're free to choose what materials you use to make the weapons.  Also, the soldiers don't judge you based on how long you take to make their weapons.
  • In the minigame Mitch's Mess, all the ores from this game are hidden in the scene.
  • This game and Papa's Pancakeria are the only games with grill/forge boosters that do not need to be bought.
  • There is a Jacksmith arcade game that can be bought from the shop in Papa's Hot Doggeria, Cupcakeria, and Pastaria. In Papa's Donuteria and Cheeseria, it is a rare prize.
